My Holiday Wish List, Inspired by the AMAs

Here it is, Wednesday. The day before Thanksgiving. And I know what is on each and every mind out there.

Shopping on Friday. Personally, I don't enjoy the Black Friday hullabaloo. I'll just stay home and eat leftovers all day. That's enough torture for me. But, since you all will be out and about anyway, I thought I'd go ahead and give you my holiday wish list. Just in case. I have been very good this year. To make it easy on you all, each of my gifts is inspired by the show that has been inspiring middle aged, suburban moms for years and years - the American Music Awards.

First up, I need some new eyeliner. Something to make my eyes pop. I'm not sure which brand it is, but I'd love whatever Adam Lambert is currently using. It must be great. He can use it while apparently speed dating on the stage and it still doesn't run or smudge. Even while making out. That's some good stuff. I want that.
See this bare wall in my house?Boring.

What I want for that is Lady Gaga's headdress.
I figure on the wall it will look something like this.
You can't make a nice cake without a cake stencil.Rihanna's dress should suffice.
While this next gift is not glamorous, it is truly something I need. Some of the carpet in my house is loose. You know how a seam will start to stand up after some years and wear and tear? I need some carpet tacks. I'm thinking the shoulders of Rihanna's other outfit will work beautifully. Those puppies should hold the carpet down nice and firm.
I hate to reference Lady Gaga twice but that girl has it going on. She reminded me during her performance that I really need some more conditioner for my hair.
Those winter fly-aways are tough.

Like Alicia Keys, shirts without tags to show me the front from the back are always a confusion. If you get me a shirt, make sure I know which way to wear it.
I'd also enjoy a parakeet. I'm not sure what reminded me of that.Firming face cream?Well, with that note in the spirit of the season, I will wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving and a good Friday, however you chose to spend it.

I missed the show, but really this is all I needed for some good entertainment.

(I think I need some eyeliner too.)

The fact that you watched this show is impressive. Love your list. I have a female crush on Lady Gaga. She's just so darn weird that I can't turn away, ya know. I'll be right there with you eating leftover on Black Friday. No shopping for me! Have a great holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. We don't celebrate it here because French people just don't get it.
I will definitely avoid going to any sales this weekend.

You truly are the funniest blogger around. I loved this post! I so needed a laugh and some items to add to my wish list too!

You've given me a good laugh this morning. I guess I didn't miss much by not watching the AMA's!

Thank God you said eye make up,when you mentioned Adam Lambert! I saw the other parts of his show and you could have asked for much worse!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Too funny!! Great post as always. Must not be liquid eyeliner - that stuff runs at the slightest on stage make-out session. I've heard...

As always ... too funny!

Happy TG!

I am with you on the black Friday gig. I like to stay home, in my p.j.'s, eat left overs and decorate my tree.... well my upstairs tree w/o the help of the grand kids.

I will try and find you some of that eye liner. I didn't realize Adam was going to turn out to be such a freak. Although the rest of the people on your list are kind of freaky too.

Becca said...

For about a minute I felt a little out of it that I don't watch the AMAs. You have satisfied my curiosity at the same time that you solidified my decision. Who knew you'd be doing so much good today?

Kristina P. said...

Have I told you how much I adore you?

Morgan said...

LMAO! Girl you always give me great dose of hilarity everytime I stop by! Have a wonderful holiday avoiding Black Friday shopping!

Love your list!!

And I have to work retail Black Friday (I'm the store manager and I still couldn't pull rank!)

Becky said...

Well, shoot. If I were actually going to leave my house on Friday, I'd mug Adam and just steal his eyeliner for you. But I'm not. Plus, sharing eyeliner? Maybe kinda gross.

Sorry.

I need to go wash my eyes out with battery acid now, thankyouverymuch. That last pic was the worst of the bunch! Yowzers!

Tammy Howard said...

Oh, that eyeliner is nice...

I was snarkin' right along with ya till ya nailed my boy Joe Perry. Boyfriend is gonna be 60 next year! He's allowed to sag a little! Supposed to, even! If he'd done anything to - um - correct that, we'd be slamming him for that! Sag on, brother Joe! Blaze the trail! Make it acceptable for the rest of us!

Happy Thanksgiving, Deb!!!

I got a kick out of the AMA costumes. For the first half of her song, my daughter and I both thought Rihanna was wearing a striped jumpsuit.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!

That lady gaga is something else, but at least she isn't boring.

Jen said...

I DO need me some of that eyeliner, and face cream too please (not the kind he's using though!) Some of those outfits - can you imagine putting that on and strutting your 'stuff' all around stage in some of that? Or even looking at yourself in the mirror?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well I know what I think you should put on your wall! *cough* all my photographs *cough* ;-)
I wish I could do eye makeup like that first gentleman!! I'll have to practice, I guess.

Strangely enough, I've listened to Lady Gaga a lot today, beginning when you posted this (assuming the time in my blog reader is correct). I think perhaps you and she conspired to motivate me to make a huge amount of books for the Christmas fair! Thank you and thank Lady Gaga. :D

Wow- each outfit is grosser than the last! How do they do it? :)

It amazes me what is called fashion. I suppose I'm just too boring. No parakets or antlers in my hair. No black friday, either.

Happy Holidays!

LMAO! It's been YEARS since I've gone out shopping on BF, but with 3 not-so-little ones home with Daddy, I'm tempted this year. I'll think of your post if I get frazzled. LOL!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Don't forget to ask for some of that black hair dye and black fingernail polish Adam was wearing.
To think I used to like him on Idol.
I won't be out shopping on black Friday either. Can't stand crowds.
Happy Thanksgiving.

I know, right? What on earth was all of that about? The AMAs made me feel like I had landed on a different planet. When I saw Adam's performance...I ~felt like running for the next spaceship home.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

I can see why you would want all of those things.
that was all pretty funny

I love the show for the mere reason it is my fix on "weird"!!
like another planet

Hope you have a marvelous Thanksgiving holiday

(maybe you can find some of those things on line and not have to do the Black Friday where everyone will be in line for the eyeliner)

Happy Thanksgiving (late) :)

This whole post is brilliant of course. Love the cake stencil reference.

I'm sitting in my bed, sicker than a dog, and there's a part of me that's relieved because it means I get to read some blogs. Is that wrong? :)

I missed the AMA's this year, I think that officially makes me not cool anymore, ha! Great pics, I always wonder if these people try on these outfits, look in the mirror and say, "Yes! This is perfect!"

myimaginaryblog said...

Yup, those outfits are all very multipurpose, aren't they?

And I'm glad for your advice to just let Google Reader win. I keep toying with the idea of giving myself a Reader amnesty by marking everything as read, but I think surrendering to the defeat is more my style.
